But while his inner sanctum is now in rebel hands, Libya's longtime leader remains at large.
Gaddafi's opponents have now made their mark on the famous statue he erected at the Bab al-Aziziya compound after a US air strike in 1986. It was there that the fugitive strongman showed his defiance in the early days of the uprising. Still taunting his enemies, this time in his latest audio message, Gaddafi urged Libyans to march on Tripoli and defeat the rebels.
